I was a child writer-dreamer who never strayed far from that path. Today I’m the award-winning author of fourteen books—dreaming my way toward more by night, while running a boutique marketing communications firm by day. I'm privileged to teach creative nonfiction at the University of Pennsylvania on chosen semesters. Always and most importantly, I am privileged to be a mom. SMALL DAMAGES, a southern Spain infused novel, was recently released from Philomel and has received three starred reviews. HANDLING THE TRUTH, a book about the making of memoir, will be published by Gotham in August. DR. RADWAY'S SARSAPARILLA RESOLVENT, an illustrated prequel to DANGEROUS NEIGHBORS featuring 1871 Philadelphia, will be released in April from NCCP/Temple. Two new YA novels are under way for Chronicle Books. My work has been or is being translated into sixteen languages. All content Copyright 2007-2013 Beth Kephart Books.
Absolutely honored to be included in the upcoming Philadelphia Literary Legacy Exhibition at Philadelphia International Airport. For details, click on the Philly image above.

HANDLING THE TRUTH: on the making of memoir
Starred Review, Library Journal! "With infectious passion and hard-won wisdom, Beth Kephart eloquently celebrates the rigors and rewards of the creative process and – equally necessary – the art of crafting a meaningful life. Part memoir and part memoirist’s manifesto, this small, urgent book inspires on many levels. Read it and learn how to tell your story. Better yet, read it and begin to understand why your story matters. " Katrina Kenison, author of Magical Journey: An Apprenticeship in Contentment. "Breathtaking in its beauty and with great heart, You Are My Only brings readers the story of a kidnapped young girl that they will never want to forget."— Amy Riley. "... a psychologically taut novel...readers will be on the edge of their seats." — Publishers Weekly. "Kephart's prose is poetry in motion." — Family Circle. "Readers will eat up this realistic variant of the youthful fantasy about finally finding one's real parents and being properly appreciated." — BCCB To pre-order, or for more reviews, click on the cover.
